Lonely Book

The pages
lie like orphans
hiding between
the covers

Do I dare
neglect the cries
that cannot make
themselves heard

The power
desires my own
empowerment
to set free

The spirit
conceived and bound
is shut between
dual fonts

Vulgar and
profoundly closed
until opened
a liquid

Crystallized
dignity on
display for all
who would read

A lonely
book stealing
hours, days, months, years
to pick up.
